Now, there's nothing any sweeter on earth, that we know of, than a real genuine mother. God bless her gallant soul, a real, real mother.
Teaching On Moses 56-0513
From the time she first she looked into our newborn eyes and held us in her tender arms, through the years that we spent leaning on her shoulder while hearing stories about the Love of God, to the hours she spent on her knees calling our names out to the Lord Jesus that He would have mercy on our souls; our mothers have been there for us in the best, and the worst, of times.
There are no words that we could write in this article that would be worthy to give honor to our mothers। But there is one whose words are worthy. We hope all the mothers who read this article are blessed by the Word of God, spoken by His mouthpiece, William Marrion Branham. Mother, he is speaking about you.
I think that a mother should be respected every day the same (That's right.), a real mother. And, but this day they call Mother's Day, is nothing in the world but a big commercial nonsense, just to drain people for money. And it's a disgrace to mother: a Mother's Day, for once a year, "Well, we don't go to see her, but we'll send her a little bunch of flowers and that'll settle it." That's not mother. My, goodness. A real mother is a woman that you--one that raised you, and you love her, and you see her and talk to her all the time, express your love to her all the time, not just one day in the year.
Teaching On Moses 56-0513
The first preacher that ever gets a child is a mother. There's four, five Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and mother. And a mother should be a Spirit filled woman, who can teach her children, and teach them to pray and to know about God, and so forth.
55-1001 Expectation
That's the kind of faith that Moses' mother had. She taught him, and she reared him in the palace of Pharaoh, teaching him that he was born for a purpose, that Jehovah had answered her prayer. And, she... He could not have had a better teacher. That's what help mold the character that Moses was.
Mother’s Day 59-0510m
He stayed right in Pharaoh's palace, which was a heathen; but his mother taught him. That's a real mother. She taught him the precepts of the Lord. She told him how he must be holy. She told him how and what he must live, and how, what God must do, would do for him. And it stuck with Moses all the days of his life.
The Invasion Of The United States 54-0509
But one of the greatest, and to my opinion, the greatest president that we ever had in this nation, was Abraham Lincoln. Now, not because he was a Republican, but because he was what he was, a godly man. And he was raised, and he... to serve God. And he said, "If there is anything that I want to give praise to," he said, "or my life was influenced by, was a godly mother who taught me to pray and to know Jesus as my Saviour."
The Influence Of Another 62-1013
Susanna Wesley was the mother of seventeen children. She didn't have no push button dishwashers, and--and spigots to turn on to get water, and yet with all those children she could spend two to three hours a day in prayer around those seventeen children. From that little nest of little birds came forth a John and a Charles who stirred the world. We need more mothers like that with time to teach their children about God.
61-0224 Be Not Afraid
I can hear his mother say, "Samson darling, what... I know you've got... You--you're just an ordinary boy now, but you're a Nazarite to the Lord. The Lord before the foundation of the world has ordained you for this ministry."
"What is it, Mama dear?"
"You're to let them seven locks grow."
And as long as God sees those seven locks, He see His promise. Hallelujah. They shaved them off one time, but they growed back. When old Samson stood there and seen them seven locks, he knowed God could look down and see His promise; He was under obligation to His Word.
Faith Cometh By Hearing 54-0320
But alas, that was long ago. And how he used to go and run, and heard his mother set out on the front porch and call his name, sweetly and softly, "Bartimaeus, it's nap time for my little boy." And he would rush up to his mother, as she set on the front porch, and sang the hymns of the Psalms to him, and tell him Bible stories until he would fall asleep in her arms.
How, setting there now, as an old man, withered, hunched in the cold, he'd think of that pretty Jewish mother, her eyes just as sparkly. How she used to brush the hair back from his little baby forehead, and say, "Oh, you have such pretty little brown eyes, my boy." And he remembered some of the Bible stories then, that she used to tell him.
I tell you, the thoughts of a good Christian mother, is a treasure to a human heart that's never forgotten. God, give us more mothers that'll take their children, and instead of trying to teach them tap-dancing, and something to ruin and wreck their life, will read the stories of the Bible to them and tell of them of the God of heaven and peace. God knows that we need that above all things now for motherhood.
Blind Bartimaeus 59-1127
And so, a good praying wife or mother, can do more for the Kingdom of God on her knees at home, than sometimes the preacher can do on the platform. That's right.
57-0727 He Was To Pass This Way
And look, young children, young folks, I don't care what it is; you always have a respect to your father and mother. I think one of the awfullest things that I can hear little children say, or young folks, "the old man" and "old woman." Listen. That's not the "old man" and "old woman"; that's your daddy and mother. And someday, when you see them going out of the room head first, and the wheels beneath the casket, squeaking, you'll know it isn't the "old man" or "old woman" then. That's right. You hear the preacher say, "Ashes to ashes, and dust to dust," you realize the best friend you ever had on earth is going down.
The trouble of it is, you learn too late. Don't weep, and cry then, and send lots of flowers, give them to them now. Be a good boy or good girl.
Life Story 51-0415A
If you've got a good wife, brother, you ought to respect her with the highest. That's right, you should do that. A real woman! And, children, if you've got a real mother that stays home and tries to take care of you, keeping your clothes clean, sends you to school, teaching you about Jesus, you should honor that sweet old mother with all that's in you. You should respect that woman, yes, sir, because she's a real mother.
My Life Story 59-0419
I tell you; what we need today is more good, old fashioned praying mothers and daddy's for their children. If we had that, would be the greatest support to do away with juvenile delinquency I know of. First, give me old fashion mothers and daddy's who pray for their children.
Looky here, boy or girl, this afternoon. If you've got a mother or dad like that, the Holy Spirit speaking to your heart, that's your mother’s prayers you're walking over the top of. Remember that.
The Approach To God 55-0123A
Heavenly Father, You see those who put up their hands. You know all about them. Now, I pray, God, that this will be the moving and the breaking time, that there'll be such a revival sweep this week, until homes will be reunited, Lord, and the power of God will come into every home: old fashion prayer altars, where dad and mother and the children are around the--the table a praying, and down in the bedroom, and in the living room, praying, and worshipping Jesus and making Him welcome.
